FIFTH EDITION

A changing market opens up new possibilities

CGS Rio 2027 brings together leaders from sport, Sports Betting, eSports, academia and technology to examine Brazil’s regulatory landscape, explore business opportunities and discuss the conditions for competitive, ethical and sustainable development.

ABOUT US

Connecting markets
Building opportunities

CGS Events is an international platform for high-level business gatherings, connecting leaders, companies, institutions and decision-makers across strategic markets in Latin America and the Caribbean.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Brazil is changing
The industry needs
to come together

A strategic gathering connecting sport, Sports Betting, eSports and technology around the decisions that will shape the future of the Brazilian market.

Regulation, investment, integrity, innovation and sustainable business models will be at the heart of the discussion, alongside possible regulatory scenarios and the conditions that could shape a potential reopening of the sports betting market.

A space to understand what comes next, what opportunities may emerge and how to prepare for the industry’s next chapter.

A new regulatory landscape

Two distinct regulatory paths intersect: fixed-odds betting has been prohibited under Provisional Measure 1,394 since September 2026, while Brazil regulated its Legal Framework for the Electronic Games Industry on October 14.

Sports Betting and market

How does an industry prepare to resume operations after a period of uncertainty?

Preparing for the next scenario

Operators, suppliers and new market players will need to review structures, technology, capital, teams, commercial strategy and operational capacity to respond quickly to market changes.

Market entry, investment, platforms, suppliers, customer acquisition and reactivation, operating costs and strategies to reach break-even will be part of a discussion focused on business and execution.

If the market reopens, who will truly be ready to return?

And while uncertainty remains, how can companies preserve investment, talent and operational capacity without anticipating regulatory decisions?

eSports, gaming and the new digital economy

eSports are part of a much larger ecosystem where gaming, entertainment, technology, content and new professions converge.

Teams, athletes, developers, publishers, startups, platforms and technology companies are building an industry that creates new opportunities for young talent and entrepreneurs.

How can Brazil turn its vast gaming community into professional development, new companies, technology, intellectual property, jobs and investment?

A discussion about the growth of an industry that is no longer just entertainment: it is also innovation, talent and the digital economy.

Technology and integrity

Platforms, sports data, AI, cybersecurity, monitoring and fraud prevention are no longer just infrastructure: they are part of the industry’s system of oversight and trust.

Technology as a protective barrier for the market

How can we anticipate risky behaviour, detect irregular activity, combat manipulation and protect users, athletes and the integrity of competitions?

AI, data analysis, anti-fraud systems, traceability, real-time monitoring and new technologies can become a first line of defence.

The challenge of the next chapter will not simply be to operate better.

It will be to demonstrate that technology can make the market safer, more transparent and more trustworthy.

BRAZIL AND SPORT

Sport is part
of Brazil’s DNA

An industry entering a new chapter

Recent changes require companies to review strategies, diversify business models and explore new opportunities around sport and entertainment.

Sports Betting, eSports, gaming, technology, data, media, content and talent now form a much broader ecosystem, capable of creating new business opportunities, investment and professional development.

CGS Rio looks beyond the immediate situation: examining where the next opportunities will emerge, how to recover investment and operational capacity, what new partnerships can be built and what lessons companies should incorporate into their strategies.

The challenge is not simply to recover market share.

It is to build stronger, more diversified models that can respond to the industry’s next changes.

Building regulated markets, together

CGS Integrity Lab and Regulatory Forum represent a new generation of meeting spaces created by CGS to connect those who regulate, build, operate and transform markets.

Two formats with their own identities and objectives, united by a shared vision: bringing together industry, authorities, regulators, associations, technology and academia to go beyond debate, bring perspectives closer, share experiences and turn challenges into possible solutions.

These are spaces to listen, question and build. To identify what works, what needs to evolve and what new answers can emerge when the public and private sectors share knowledge, experience and a vision for the future.

Regulation, integrity, innovation, user protection, technology and new market development are part of an agenda focused on delivering concrete results: better decisions, greater collaboration and stronger, more transparent and sustainable regulated markets.

Less rhetoric. More conversation. More cooperation. More solutions.

Connecting markets
Building opportunities

CGS Events is an international platform for high-level business gatherings, connecting leaders, companies, institutions and decision-makers across strategic markets in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Our journey began in 2003 with the creation of the first Peru Gaming Show in Lima, a pioneering event that helped bring together and consolidate Peru’s emerging gaming industry. Following its successful development and subsequent sale, the group expanded into new territories, building a presence across the Caribbean, Chile and Brazil.

Today, more than two decades of experience support a broader vision. CGS Events develops boutique conferences, executive gatherings, business forums and industry summits across established and emerging sectors, including gaming, lotteries and iGaming, innovation and technology, digital transformation, Open Finance, energy transition and green hydrogen.

Our events are designed around the needs of each market, combining relevant content, high-level networking and meaningful business connections. We work closely with industry leaders, companies, institutions, associations and public-sector stakeholders to create environments where knowledge, opportunities and strategic relationships come together.

Rather than applying a single event model across different markets, CGS Events creates purpose-driven experiences tailored to each industry, territory and stage of development.

Our new slogan, “CGS Events — Building Regulated Markets”, reflects the evolution of our vision and builds on the foundation of “Connecting Markets. Building Opportunities”.
